I walked away from a lucrative corporate career as a chartered accountant in 2021, a role that paid really well but left my spirit unfulfilled, because I sensed a deeper, more purposeful calling and an intense urge to get into business. I joined the family business to sharpen my entrepreneurial edge, and somehow started reading about the Beauty and Personal Care industry in India and felt a strange pull towards the same. But, who thinks of getting into an industry just because you are feeling a pull? Years passed, the intent getting stronger and I began feeling like a misfit in the family business. In 2024, I finally decided to turn curiosity into action. I began canvassing friends, family and acquaintances to uncover their real-world skincare experiences, then immersed myself in research on the latest actives and formulation science. With those insights, I brought my vision to life, and the result is Science & Roots—a brand born from a leap of faith, relentless curiosity, and a commitment to purposeful beauty.
